Illusive is the largest Comic Book and Tabletop Game store in the Bay Area. We specialize in comic Subscriptions, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon and other TCg events. also specialize in Boardgames, Paints and Supplies, Miniatures and Game Rentals and Events.
This position does require working at least this schedule: Tuesday 12p-7p, Friday 1p-9p, occasional Saturdays and Sundays 11a-7p. Staff rarely work overtime.

Compensation: Santa Clara's current minimum wage is $18.70 per hour. Pay range for this position ranges from $19-23 per hour, depending upon experience and knowledge base for this position. Requirements
- Strong familiarity with at least Magic: the Gathering and Pokemon tcg. Knowledge of Disney Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited is a bonus
- Confidently communicate instructions to large groups of players
- Experience using FB/IG Social Media for marketing
- At least 2 years experience in customer-facing Customer Service, Sales or Education
- Strong familiarity with current Boardgames, including but not limited to: Catan, Love Letter, Marvel Champions, and Root
- Be able to multi-task and follow through on To Do lists, re-prioritizing frequently without supervision
- Be able to lift and carry boxes up to 40 pounds.
- Able to multi-task, plan and reorganize tasks as priorities change
Preferred
- Magic the Gathering L1 Judge and Pokemon Professor Certification
- Experience with Dungeons & Dragons
- Experience in selling MtG cards
- Experience in use of Canva
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Form and sustain warm, professional relationships with co-workers and customers
- Using Lightspeed POS, Google Drive, TCG Player and the Social Media sites FB & IG
- Overseeing tcg tournaments for Magic the Gathering. Pokemon. Lorcana, and Star Wars: Unlimited
- Working with Games Manager to help plan out Event Schedules
- Customer Service in sales for all our product lines, and retail logistical duties
- Assisting in ordering Games, TCG's and Game Supplies
- Checking in Purchase Orders
- Adding events to store online calendars
This Position will require you to:
- Be properly masked during your shift for the comfort of your co-workers and immunocompromised customers, excluding breaks
- Stay on top of industry news about upcoming games and gaming trends
- Communicate fully with your remote-working boss on an ongoing basis
- Creatively problem solve
- Be proactive
- Ensure the store is extremely clean and organized
- Be very focused and able to stay task-oriented while also multi-tasking because we are superheroes!
