Illusive Comics & Games is the premier tabletop game store in the Silicon Valley. We specialize in local in-store sales of Comic Books, Boardgames, Paints and Supplies, Miniatures and Game Rentals and Events, and we have an online store where we have the majority of our inventory available for sale for in-store pickup or shipping.
We are immediately hiring for 1 Full Time Tabletop Games Event Coordinator. This is an in-store, customer-facing position. Required days of work include Mondays,Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 11am-7pm, Sundays as needed. Hours can range from 10am to 9:15pm. Shifts are 8-9 hours long, with half hour or hour long lunches, accordingly. This position can be 4 or 5 days per week.

This Position will require you to:
• Be properly masked during your shift for the comfort of your co-workers and immunocompromised customers, excluding breaks
• Stay on top of industry news about upcoming games and gaming trends
• Communicate with your remote-working boss on an ongoing basis
• Creatively problem solve
• Be proactive
• Ensure the store is extremely clean and organized
• Be very focused and able to stay task-oriented
Compensation: Santa Clara's current minimum wage is $18.70 per hour. Pay range for this position ranges from $19-23 per hour, depending upon experience and knowledge base. Additionally, you will receive 40 Hours of Sick time per year. Perks include but are not limited to: a staff discount on our products and complimentary snacks.

Requirements
- Strong familiarity with Magic: the Gathering and Pokemon TCGs
- Knowing Lorcana and Star Wars: Unlimited and other TCGs we stock enough to describe game play
- Experience planning and running tabletop game events
- Deliver impartial rulings and calmly mediate disputes during tournaments
- Experience using Social Media for marketing
- At least two years experience ordering and inventory management
- Strong familiarity with many current and classic Boardgames
- Communicate with staff and management team in an effective and warm manner
- Be able to multi-task and follow through on To Do lists, re-prioritizing frequently without supervision
- Be able to lift and carry boxes up to 40 pounds.
Preferred
- Magic the Gathering L1 Judge and Pokemon Professor Certification
- Experienced Dungeons & Dragons Game Master
- Experience handling MtG singles purchases
- Experience with supervising and training staff
- Experience in use of Canva
- Working knowledge of current Comic Book storylines
Events Coordinator Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Using our store apps, including Lightspeed POS and Google Drive, along with TCG Player and social media sites
- Overseeing Trading Card Game tournaments for Magic the Gathering. Pokemon. Lorcana, and Star Wars: Unlimited
- Working with Games Manager to plan out Event Schedule for Releases, Special Tournaments and Weekly Events
- Writing Event Descriptions for marketing
- Customer Service in sales for all our product lines, and retail logistical duties
- Assisting in ordering Games, TCG's and Game Supplies
- E-commerce site maintenance
- Checking in Purchase Orders and supervising that others are completed correctly
- Purchasing MtG singles
- Adding events to Discord & Google calendars
- Confidently communicate instructions to large groups of players
- Forming and sustaining warm, professional relationships with co-workers and customers
This Position will require you to:
